At the HDNA, our research focus is preparing Australia for future Huntington’s disease clinical trials and treatments by understanding the prevalence of the disease, where affected people are located, and the financial burden on patients, families, and healthcare systems.

The 𝗙𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 recently won the Edith Cowan University Centre for Precision Health Consumer Engagement Award. 👏👏👏👏

Together with members of the affected communities in the Kimberley and cultural liaison from Connectivity and Lyfe Languages, the multidisciplinary team led by 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 has co‑designed a culturally safe video to improve health literacy.

The clinic provides care on Country for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living with Huntington’s in northern WA and is adapting the current model of clinical and social care to be culturally safe.
