Hey! My name is Hameed and I've been on twitter for a while, but wanted to start interacting and get over my online shyness! My biggest interests are video games particularly RPGs and politics. This Fall, I'll be a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying Public Policy!
@RyanGeddie Amazing video! I really appreciate your use of older speeches, there's so much good stuff in them and you pick ones I've never even heard of before.
Weekly Famitsu
"The demo for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is scheduled to be released starting August 20th. The demo allows players to play through the end of Chapter 1, and save data can be carried over to the full version."
One of my roommate and I's recurring bits this year was a result of him overhearing a voiced conversation where they reference him many times and him looking at me absolutely confused and horrified.
@kingslayer253 I think Van and Agnès have a more well-developed dynamic I love their boss-assistant banter, and the ways their differences have changed each other for the better. However in terms of a potential romance, I prefer Elaine. Their awkward tension is the best.
@disrupthehuman Fernández-Vara's anecdote at pax east is forever relevant. 17 years later and the state of general games discussion has barely progressed
@InlandCaGuy@maiamindel I wasn't around, but I'm sure that's true. With that in mind, The AI companies need better PR. There needs to be less doomday talk, city councils NDAs, and more promoting how AI can provide utility to anyone. If the product is good, people are more willing to change their minds.
@InlandCaGuy@maiamindel I think the difference is that phones proved to be incredibly useful to the average American. People might think AI is cool, but are not seeing the life-changing benefits yet. If that's the case, why would they accept the (exaggerated) negatives?
Spiderman: Brand New Day
I really liked it! I think the thing that stood out to me the most was the integration non-Spidey characters into the story. Both were extensions of Peter's internal dilemma. I do think some characters needed a little more, but enjoyable watch.
If AI for most is just ChatGPT's free model and potential mass unemployment, why would they take on the negatives of the infrastructure needed to advance it.
Opposing data centers might not be the smartest way to express this, but more then anything AI has a product problem. Many Americans just don't see it as a product that will make us better off, but rather one that's just kinda cool or downright harmful.
Polling on data centers is really, really brutal.
In WI, 76% of voters said "the costs outweigh the benefits," including 67% of Republicans. Gallup found 71% of Americans oppose one being built near them, incl. 80% of 18–34yos.
Heatmap found 55% would support a *national ban.*
@number_pizza111 Even being a minority, the amount of people willing to be outwardly racist is incredibly small. Sometimes you just have to not speculate on whether they carry that into the voting booth.
@aidan_smx Laken-Riley was bad on the merits and the deceptive name. Many dems were scared after 2024, but it should've been clear Trump's popularity on immigration would quickly burn out. I wonder if it will matter in 2028 since the possible swing-state candidates voted in favor.
