how did the exploration go?

( contently melting into her embrace; tension starting to ease off overworked muscles. )

i'm glad you're back, i missed you.

[𝘘𝘜𝘌𝘌𝘕 𝘖𝘍 ♡’𝘚 .ᐟ @WARRlORISMS]

( pressing a small kiss to his temple. content hum, )

‘m finally back from my exploration. i’ve missed you, my love.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( hugging her arms back in delight, he glances over his shoulder with a hum. )

hello, dear —— what a lovely surprise.

[𝘘𝘜𝘌𝘌𝘕 𝘖𝘍 ♡’𝘚 .ᐟ @WARRlORISMS]

( arms wrapping ‘round @HEARTSlNCERE from behind. little squeeze. )

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

i like the confidence in that statement.
and i'm inclined to agree; you aren't, mr knight in shining armour.

No, not many indeed.
But, I’d hazard to say I’m not like many to begin with.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

well, someone has to work and having lovely company is my distraction from work.

( shrug. )

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( another deep breath, hiding his hands behind his back. )

fine. tired.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( a deep inhale. rolling his eyes, and exhaling with a sigh. )

...
whatever.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

so what you're saying is: you make us look like idiots and i have to do damage control.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

and what do you do most of the time?

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( scoffing. ) i'm doing other things besides that, you know.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

... yeah?
where else would i be?

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

you know i've been here this whole time, right?

( cooped up in his office working, but—— the point stands. )

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( a small huff, ruffling his hair. )

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

well, in that case ...

( he leans down again, this time being the one to press a small kiss to the corner of his lips. )

to make up for my absence as well.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( oh, how sweet. he smiles at the kiss, closing his eyes for a brief moment as he hums. )

didn't know i needed compensation, but ... i will happily accept it.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

...
( raising his brows in soft curiosity before leaning down a little. blink blink. )

yes——?

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( squeezing his hand gently. )

i figured so. everyone's gotta look out for their corner —— that's simply how it goes.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

lucky indeed. not many can say they ever get the chance, no?

[‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ 𝓔𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝓓𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬. @MECHNlCALCUT]

Oh, well aren’t I lucky to hold a spot in your heart, oh King of Hearts.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

( scrunching up his nose a little. hearing the title never fails to feel a little strange —— he quickly recovers with a hum. )

unfortunately, true. there's always work, somehow ... still, it's nice to see you again.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

i missed you quite a bit as well.

[‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ 𝓴͟𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 ♥️ .ᐟ @HEARTSlNCERE]

it has, hasn't it? everyone's gotten so busy and just stopped seeing each other.

( tilting his head a little. the blush is as cute as ever! )

i've missed you, though.
