He returns a hint of a smile that doesn’t touch his eyes.

the sheer velocity that Jenn approaches with startles a huffed laugh from Laurie. reaching over, she steals the brush from her, a gentle hand shifting Jenn to face away from her for easier access to wild hair.
"How often are you brushing your mane, darling?"
“I know I know, you really are too sweet y’know?”
She smiles—the damn, wicked smile. Her hands moved to cup both sides of his face, gently stroking his cheek with a thumb.
“Much too sweet for me. I might get a cavity at this rate.”
