#OTD in 1921, Marines and Sailors from the USS Olympia arrived at Washington Navy Yard with a casket holding the remains of an unidentified Soldier. Interred at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the memorial is a national symbol of honor, sacrifice, and eternal appreciation.
In addition to two Medals of Honor, Daly was nominated for a third for his actions during the Battle of Belleau Wood in #WWI. Daly was also awarded the Navy Cross and Distinguished Service Cross, as well as the French Medaille Militaire and Croix de Guerre.
Fifteen years later, on October 24 1915, while serving as a Gunnery Sergeant serving in the 15th Company of Marines during the Haitian Campaign , Daly led Marines through a heavy enemy attack and once again fought with exceptional gallantry, earning a second Medal of Honor.

June is recognized as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Month and today is National #PTSDAwarenessDay. There are currently 8 million people in the United States living with PTSD. People can develop PTSD at any age, often after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event.
