Every Friday, we wear red. Not for fashion. Not for a trend. As a simple, powerful reminder that our service members stationed far from home are never forgotten.
To the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Guardians currently deployed across the globe: We see you. We remember you. We stand with you. While many of us enjoy the comforts of home this weekend, you stand watch, miss birthdays and milestones, and carry the weight of protecting our freedom.
This tradition started as a grassroots effort in the mid 2000s, chain emails and military spouses urging people to wear red as a visible show of support. It continues today because the mission never ends. Our troops are still serving in distant places, and their families still hold the line back home.
President Trump has long made clear that supporting our military and ensuring they have the resources, respect, and backing they deserve is a top priority. Under his leadership, the focus remains on strength, readiness, and never leaving our warfighters behind. On this R.E.D. Friday, we join that commitment: honor those who serve, support their families, and keep them in our thoughts until every one comes home safe.
