Day 4 - Our final stop was Westminster Abbey, where we visited the tombs of medieval and Tudor monarchs and explored how Henry VII used the Abbey to consolidate the position of the Tudor dynasty.
After an action-packed few days, the @HarrogateGS History and Politics trip are only a couple of hours away from school! Here are some of the highlights…
Day 4 - up and out early on our final day for a tour of the Houses of Parliament, where we were greeted by our MP @AJonesMP and learned so much about the history and functions of the Palace of Westminster from our fabulous guides.
#TRIPlive - our students at Harrogate Grammar School really enjoyed talking to @campbellclaret this afternoon! What one piece of advice would each of you give to young people who want to affect change? @HarrogateGS
@albertj8635 @mg_cordelle @HarrogateGS Brilliant - a welcome blast from the past ☺️ We’re so glad you still have the photo - we couldn’t track it down before Frank humoured us by recreating it. He’s so patient 😂
After several dubious guest DJ sets from the students and a superb quiz from Quizmaster Henry, the trip is almost over 😢 We’re due back at @HarrogateGS just before 7pm.
@PeteHJ It’s been a pleasure! Ms Hooper, Miss Devey, Mr Clarke, Mr Kempton and Mrs Chesworth have had a whale of a time. We feel fortunate and privileged to work with such delightful young people.
Today we’ve visited Henry VIIIs palace Hampton Court. Thank you so much to our students for being as engaged and wonderful as always, the staff that made the trip possible and the fantastic Mrs Chesworth for organising and leading the trip! @HarrogateGS
@HarrogateGS Our fabulous A level students have had a great time away on the History and Politics trip - here are our Day 1 highlights - Westminster Abbey, the Supreme Court and Downing Street
A bit less silliness from Mr Cockerell’s class who enjoyed their lunch in the sunshine! Thanks to the marvelous staff and amazing students who made this such a great trip @HarrogateGS@thackraymuseum
