We're excited to show you more work-in-progress EXODUS gameplay today. This time, something more personal: a quieter, in-the-moment conversation with Phaedra, one of your combat companions, while you’re out on a mission together.
This is one of many moments between the action where you shape who Jun becomes and how your story unfolds. In this conversation, you'll see:
▶️ Jun Aslan and Phaedra in a corroding Celestial facility, hunting for Remnants
🧬 Phaedra has been infected by a Celestial virus that left her blind
📶 Her drone feeds her environmental data, and strangely, the virus has given her an unexpected ability to interface with Celestial glyphs
🔀 Dialogue options branch in real time as Phaedra opens up about what she's going through
These moments are work-in-progress gameplay and a small window into what’s coming this summer, when we debut a longer Extended Gameplay Reveal. Stay tuned for more, Travelers.

@Icewallowcumin Enjoyed my time with E33. Wasn't a fan of the way some Expeditioner Journals were hidden behind post-game content...loved the lore and their emotional impact during the campaign.
But couldn't be bothered with grinding another 25lvls so I could unlock everything.
What sucks about the Assassins Creed franchise is that I always felt like the story was leading us to a finale where we'd play as Desmond in modern day.
Like. I wanted that so bad.
Jumping skyscrapers. Parkour through traffic. Epic gun play and espionage.

▪️Games that have inspired Chris King (Game Director) when it comes to game design, combat etc: Mass Effect (no surprise), Horizon in terms of using elemental power/weapons and tools against certain enemies, Metroid Prime (loneliness, exploration)
▪️"Recycler": The 'base gun' that salvagers use, you don't need to carry a bunch of ammo, "sort of like the flux capacitor from Back to the Future" where you can pick any scrap materials and slap them in there to craft different resources. It also transforms into other weapons
▪️Supports different playstyles, where one person could go through an encounter guns blazing, another stealths through, or another person might talk to an NPC and avoid combat altogether
▪️Some companions are dedicated to stealth, "whole bunch of cool toys in the player kit" dedicated to stealth, some AEGIS suits are stealth, all optional
▪️You will come across many ancient Remnants (old Celestial tech), moral dilemmas and choice of how to use that tech to advance humanity
▪️Some names of ancient Remnants: "Relativistic Perditor", "Proto-Matter", "Hell of Liquid Walls" (the team won't reveal what they do though)
▪️Jun (player character): Comes from humble beginnings, doesn't understand the depth of his/her power, 'unsuspecting hero element'
▪️Combat is meant to feel cinematic, strategic, leaning into player choice and agency, spectacle. Want players to feel satisfied using the tools they want to overcome battles
▪️Enemy variety will evolve as your progress in the game, start out on your home planet Lidon against basic enemies, human factions, Celestial constructs (robots left behind to defend ancient tech) then gets more dangerous as you venture out
▪️Side quests are "critical" to the game and not designed as "filler content" , use them to make players feel connected to the universe, develop relationships with companions, increase skills, "find cool shit"
