This AI era is the 2nd best time to be a designer.
The 1st best time was the late 90s / early 00s and the explosion of the web.
There will never be another time that can replace that magical era for this web designer at heart.
People are overcomplicating things with AI agents..
Some will type 60 prompts to get what they want, when clicking through the UI 4 times gets the job done and saves token costs too.
Use AI for tasks that devour your time (grunt work) or are genuinely too complex to do manually.
If AI ends up taking more time than the traditional way, stop right there! You’re heading down the wrong path.
For example, manually renaming design layers takes forever. One prompt can clean up and standardize all your layer names far better than doing it yourself.
Designing for games is no joke. It goes way beyond web and mobile UI, requiring deep gaming knowledge and a massive range of skills. Even AI doesn't simplify it much.
Unless you have iron patience, don't get into game menu and UI design.
Webflow moving toward native apps? Seems like a full pivot into AI and agentic features.
No-Code was supposed to take over the world, but it ended up being the first thing disrupted by AI. Now these tools are rushing to evolve before they get left behind.
If we were about to launch something big at Webflow Conf, there'd probably be signs 👀

Working on my personal website after what feels like forever.
Honestly, #Framer is hitting different lately. I used to hate it, but V3 with all the AI features completely changed the game.
It’s the best time to build, especially for designers. We used to be so limited, but with a basic understanding of code, the possibilities are endless.
@DavudCokic What is the most valuable skill that helped u in your journey? I'm a designer with +8 years of experience, but with this AI advancement, I'm really into building my own products.
I’ve been using Gemini a lot more for my general daily tasks lately because it doesn't have those ridiculous restrictions on regular, free use like GPT and Claude, and it’s gotten so much better than before.
Claude easily offers the worst experience in this regard!
@BallerIndustry Hi Angus, dropped a quick message in your DM with a quick UX breakdown of BacnkStatmentConverter. Mind taking a look when you get a chance?
Feels like Figma has quietly abandoned Figma Sites for now. No clear roadmap, no updates, just a shift in focus to other things.

AI is taking over small design/dev projects. The "pretty 10-page website" era is dead.
Where designers remain indispensable: complex product thinking and large-scale problem solving.

Only a small group of people can use the full real potential that already exists. The rest are just standing there, shocked, wondering what’s happening.
The speed of the AI world is so high that interfaces have fallen behind it.
There are no proper interfaces for what exists right now. You need knowledge and skills to be able to put things together yourself.
