🇸🇩 Companies controlled by a U.S. Army Special Forces veteran operated a fleet of aging Boeing planes that flew to logistics and supply hubs used by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces, the Sudanese paramilitary group the UN and rights groups have charged with genocide, a Reuters investigation found.

🔹Steven Shaulis runs the Singapore-based contractor CADG, which Reuters reports has received at least $419 million from U.S. taxpayers over two decades for building infrastructure and more than $160 million from UN agencies.

🔹His firms operated at least three planes flying to RSF strongholds, including Nyala in Darfur and supply hubs in Libya and Somalia that proved critical to the RSF’s siege of al-Fashir, where the UN and rights groups describe a mass ethnic cleansing genocidal massacre taking place last October.

🔹The trail began when a Boeing 737 was destroyed by Sudan’s military in May 2025 at Nyala; a source confirmed to Reuters that 51 of the 54 killed were RSF fighters, and its pilot and engineer worked for a Shaulis-owned UAE company.

It remains unclear who paid for the flights or what the planes carried beyond the fighters aboard the destroyed aircraft. Reuters said Shaulis or his firms have not been sanctioned.
