In 1990, British-Nigerian footballer, Justin Fashanu, became the first male professional player to publicly come out as gay.
As reported by Prime People, he told The Sun that before coming out, he had had secret relationships with a senior British politician, television stars, and fellow footballers.
"I had a relationship with a Division One player. This guy was a top footballer in the north but, like me, he was trapped in a macho sport and seeking male company within it.
"The greatest thing about getting all this off my chest now is that I won't have to live the lie any longer. I can be honest and say, 'I'm gay.' Now does that make me a better or worse person?"
At the time, Fashanu had already played for Manchester City, Southampton, and Nottingham Forest, where he became the first Black footballer in Britain to command a £1 million transfer fee in 1981.
Kojo Van Ess of GTV Ghana is like many other Ghanaian journalists. When the subject is LGBTQ, suddenly they forget their common sense, empathy, and professional ethics - if they even know them. Just see his framing and way of questioning in an attempt to dehumanise queer people
I wrote my first Love letter to a boy (Williams) I was crushing on back then in primary school, today I still write in men's dms.
Happy pride month 🏳️🌈♥️🥂
My mom said she had always knew about my sexuality...

I am happy to see that my people are trying to start an online campaign. I hope they have taken into consideration that Sam George is still in charge of the digital ecosystem in Ghana and he is already shadow banning pro-LGBTQ+ accounts.
Just a Sunday afternoon reminder that “are you clean?” is not a valid sexual health strategy for STI prevention. You’re better off taking full ownership of your sexual health than expecting others to answer your self-serving questions truthfully.
These past few weeks, I have had to force myself to accept that I am not living life in survival mode anymore and that I deserve everything I have and everything I am getting because I worked hard for it. Poverty is really something oh herh😭😭😭
Hello everyone,

Migration can be tough, and my team and I are here to support you in different ways,
Every day I pray for the day gay people can live their lives freely without being harmed, attacked, abused, or disrespected just for existing and hurting nobody!
If we want to draft a proper Family Values Bill, we know exactly what needs to be put in there and it is definitely not one's sexuality.
I'm shocked by everything I'm reading here.
"Homosexuality is un-African."
No, colonial Christianity is.
We had gay ancestors, gender-diverse languages, and love before your religion came from abroad.
An aerial view exposing the devastating destruction caused by galamsey in the Mankraso community. The fight against galamsey keeps worsening, but of course, we’re told it’s 80% successful .
#EndGalamseyNow
A society that openly does illegal mining in a way that endangers human life says it has a sense of morality that proscribes homosexuality.
Bunch of hypocritical souls.
