Based on true events...

[Scene: Client walks into CA’s office, looking tired]

Client: Arre bhai… abhi aap data data bol rahe ho, yahan to floods ne hi band baja rakha hai. Files office mei hi phasi hain, aadha system hi band hai.

CA: Samajh raha hoon, lekin sabse pehle ITR filing priority hai. GSTR-1 bhi important hai, par ITR miss hui toh penalty aur notices dono pakka.

Client: Lekin abhi data kahan se laayein?

CA: Jo bhi digital hai, A.I.S. aur Form 26AS ke through extract kar lo. Waise bhi A.I.S. kabhi load hota hai, kabhi nahi. Main subah se try kar raha hoon...

Client: (thoda hass ke) Matlab portal bhi flood situation mein hai?

CA: (laughs) Bilkul. Server flood, bandwidth drought.

Client: Waise rebate ka kya scene hai? New regime mein suna hai 7 lakh tak zero tax hai, par kisi client ka return file kiya tha toh ₹3-4 hazaar tax aa raha tha.

CA: Haan woh 87A rebate CPC ka fault hai. System har case mein rebate adjust nahi kr raha. Manually intervene karna padta hai. Isi wajah se time double lagta hai.

Client: Matlab department khud clear nahi hai, aur hum taxpayers ka fault?

CA: Exactly. Aur upar se GSTR-1 September ka pending hai. Par frankly bolun toh abhi ITR ko top priority do. GSTR-1 thoda delay hua toh late fee manageable hai, lekin ITR delay hua toh unnecessary scrutiny risk.

Client: Hmm… sahi keh rahe ho. Lekin floods mein staff bhi kaam pe nahi aa raha, ghar se nikla toh do ghante paani mei phansna padta hai.

CA: Dekho, jo bhi possible hai, PDF / scans / online statements bhejo. Bank se net banking download, TDS certificates email pe mangwa lo. Baki physical data ke liye hum jugad kar lenge.

Client: Theek hai. Main sham tak jo bhi online data hai woh bhejta hoon.

CA: Perfect. GSTR 1 ka data bhi bhej dena, par ITR ke liye jo bhi ho, pehle wo. Due date ke time pe floods, server error, rebate glitch ..sabka excuse sarkar ke liye valid nahi hota.

Client: Matlab hamare liye natural calamity, unke liye sirf “non-compliance.”

CA: (smiles) Bilkul. Hum CA logon ka standard dialogue suno: “Client bole flood hai, portal bole error hai, aur department bole penalty hai.”

Client: (laughs) Sahi bola! Chal theek hai, aaj hi upload karne ki koshish karta hoon.

CA: Shabash. Data aaya, return file hua.. tabhi chain ki neend aayegi.

BREAKING: CIRC of @theicai has requested @nsitharaman @FinMinIndia to extend the due date of Tax Audit Reports for FY 2024-25 (AY 2025-26) from 30th Sept to 31st Dec 2025.

I have never vouched for due dates extension in th past.
But this season, late release of ITR Forms, glitches on the ITD Portal & extreme weather conditions have forced me to ask you to kindly extend the following due dates in advance to avoid last-minute chaos & mental stress:

➡️ ITR (non audit) → 15th October 2025
➡️Tax Audit → 30th November 2025
➡️ITR (Audit) → 31st December 2025
➡️GST 9/9C → 31st Jan 2026
