Broadly speaking, opinion is divided b/w:

1) Overseas judges must leave to avoid legitimizing HK's now-ruined judiciary; or

2) Oppressive laws / overreaching DOJ would exist regardless; having the best judges available would serve HK better than having less qualified judges.

The CFA has released it's reasons on not hearing the bail appeal of Sidney Ng, one of the speech therapists charged with breaking sedition laws but NOT the NSL. Despite this, the Magistrates' court denied bail to Ng and others under the stricter requirements of the NSL.

In conclusion: The top court confirms that even when not charged directly under the NSL, defendants charged with crimes that touches upon the area of national security will be held to the stringent bail requirements of the NSL 42(2).

@ofarry @ondaiwai It is annoying I fully agree. But you are obliged to pay - you agreed to their terms when you signed up for a card (no annual fee cards will explicitly say so). Thankfully more and more cards now are no annual fee - or, as banks like to say, have a “perpetual annual fee waiver.”
