每年6月3日夜晚，在銅鑼灣街頭鬧市的東角道，都有多名藝術家自發以行為、裝置等表現方式，各自完成一批悼念六四主題的藝術創作。

他們會佔據一條步行街，這一傳統此前已延續14年。

晚上7時53分，藝術家陳美彤手持一卷黑紙，緩步走向東角道的路牌下，不足一分鐘的時間，未見陳有何動作及展示任何物品，警方迅速將她拉到一旁搜身，及後柙上警車帶走；去年今日，陳美彤在東角道以薯仔作行為藝術，她在最後拿出打火機點燃薯仔時被警方阻止，同樣將她帶走。

在陳美彤被捕前到場的藝術家三木，他手持一袋麵包向東角道內街的「銅鑼灣書店」招牌前進；他在陳被捕帶上警車後，相隔不久亦被警方包圍及帶走，現場約有50多名警員包圍三木並送上警車，他在被帶上警車的過程中不斷高聲呼喊：「不忘六四」、「香港人不要怕」、「香港人不用怕他們」。

去年今日，三木在東角道「銅鑼灣書店」的招牌下進行名為《離騷》的行為藝術，他曾以柳枝鞭打自身64次。在行為藝術進行之際，警方將他拉到一旁，又以錄影機對着三木，向他詢問為何要到場表演行為藝術，表演有何意思等，三木事後向記者表示，「我是怕，但怕都仍然要做，不能被（國安法的）紅線捆死。」

回到今年6月3日晚上，三木被帶上警車前，他露出右手手臂上被紅線捆綁着的骨頭。

另有一對身上帶有白花的情侶被截查後帶上警車。

去年亦有到場的藝術家 Joyce，正於東角道準備白紙時被捕，Joyce 冒着突然瀉下的暴雨被柙上警車帶走，去年今日的她在東角道中擺放算術題予市民作答，該四條算術題的答案分別是「8、9、6、4」。

約晚上11時期間，警方於社交媒體表示，在銅鑼灣一帶拘捕四人及帶走四人送往警署調查，涉嫌作出煽動或擾亂秩序行為，包括展示具煽動性字句示威物品，及在公眾地方叫囂。四名被捕人士分別被警方以涉嫌干犯「作出具煽動意圖的作為」或「在公眾地方擾亂秩序」罪拘捕。

消息指，在東角道被捕的陳美彤、Joyce，以及身帶白花的一對情侶被送往灣仔警署後獲釋，而藝術家三木至今仍未獲釋。
