@GaryStef@MetroNorth “Harlem, New Haven, New Canaan, and Danbury customers are experiencing delays averaging 20-30 minutes after a person was struck by a train near Tremont.
Harlem Line trains are bypassing Melrose, Tremont, and Fordham.”
$ASTS: SpaceX has explicitly stated its intention for Starlink Mobile to compete directly against the world's Mobile Network Operators. The EchoStar spectrum acquisition makes the strategy clear: SpaceX wants to become a global mobile carrier from space. The problem? It lacks the low-band spectrum (and satellites that can use low-band) that terrestrial MNOs rely on for quality of service, wide-area coverage and strong indoor penetration.
SpaceX will need to win regulatory approval country by country to re-secure Echostar spectrum rights and get approval to use this spectrum for mobile service, build local distribution, billing, customer service and support infrastructure, and convince consumers to switch from trusted domestic carriers. Every market becomes a separate regulatory and political battle.
Now ask the obvious question: why would governments willingly help SpaceX economically attack their own national champions? Incumbent MNOs employ thousands, invest billions locally, pay taxes and operate critical national infrastructure. AST SpaceMobile offers regulators the exact opposite proposition: strengthen your domestic carriers, preserve their customer relationships, and give them satellite coverage they can sell themselves.

Starlink wants to become the MNO.
Business models matter.
@ATTHelp I spoke to a rep. They are blaming the Apple Store for not processing return properly and telling me I have to go to an AT&T store. Your system sucks.
@dpinsen@albertwenger Seemingly there may in fact be a noble movement taking place, but of a different sort... "VCs are coming together"...
Good people do good things. Have a good day.
@dpinsen@albertwenger Noble thought David, however it is accounts for depositors that the FDIC insures. So it would have meant sitting down and opening close to 4,000 new accounts at $250k to be FDIC insured to "raise" $1B. And btw... each account would have to be a unique depositor/entity.
@Leatherman I love my 2 new Wave+ and my “old” 2nd Generation Wave. I will say though that the sailing community probably deserves their own Leatherman. What is “wrong” about the wave is that “pointed” knives are generally frowned upon. We can have one, but how about a proper safety blade?
@RowingNews Thank you! I had eventually found on Northeastern’s website. Not sure why the NCAA doesn’t do a better job of publicizing the link(s)! Lot of people want to watch the livestream and always struggling to find it.
