How about reading a little history before making such sweeping claims? Ethiopia is not seeking war, nor is it claiming someone else’s territory. Ethiopia historically had access to ports along the Red Sea and Indian Ocean, but geopolitical upheavals, foreign intervention, and internal conflicts left it landlocked for decades.

Ethiopia is now rebuilding its economy and restoring its regional influence. Seeking reliable access to the Red Sea—including through peaceful agreements with neighbouring countries—is a legitimate economic and strategic interest, not a declaration of war.

If you are Nigerian, you should understand the importance of sovereignty and self-determination. Africa should encourage dialogue and cooperation, rather than repeating narratives that portray Ethiopia as a threat simply because it wants secure access to the sea.

China’s longstanding foreign-policy principle is non-interference in disputes between other countries, with the India–Pakistan relationship being a notable exception. It would therefore be surprising if China were to explicitly endorse Egypt’s position by saying Ethiopia should not develop its own natural resources.

Even President Trump, leader of one of the world’s most powerful countries, made statements supportive of Egypt, yet that did not prevent Ethiopia from completing the GERD.

If Egypt is genuinely seeking a sustainable and fair solution to the Nile issue, the most important dialogue is with Ethiopia—the country where the Blue Nile originates.

The Nile’s waters do not flow from the Himalayan mountains; the Blue Nile flows from the Ethiopian highlands. Ultimately, cooperation between the countries that share the Nile basin is far more productive than seeking outside powers to take sides.

Why would a Turkish person support a Sudanese general who is destroying his own country? Al-Burhan is widely seen as aligned with Egypt and has a long history of taking positions against Ethiopia.

It is perplexing to see a Turkish commentator supporting Al-Burhan while promoting hostile and misleading narratives against Ethiopia. Is this simply because “Al-Burhan” sounds like a Muslim name? If the intention is to show solidarity with Muslims, it is important to remember that Ethiopia has a very large Muslim population—indeed, Ethiopia is home to more Muslims than Sudan.

Ethiopians and Sudanese are neighboring peoples with deep historical, cultural, and human connections. Ethiopia has consistently advocated for peace and regional stability.

Did you know that during Ethiopia’s northern conflict, Sudanese forces led by Al Burhan occupied Ethiopian territory? However, the Ethiopian government did not take advantage of Sudan’s internal conflict to reclaim those territories by force. Ethiopia considered it wrong to exploit Sudan’s crisis while Sudanese people were already fighting among themselves.

So, if you truly care about Sudan and its people, please direct your solidarity toward the Sudanese people, not toward a military general. Support peace, dialogue, and the territorial integrity and dignity of both Sudan and Ethiopia.
You can stand with Sudan without turning Ethiopia into an enemy.

During droughts, it’s Ethiopian farmers who suffer first, not Egypt. Ethiopia shouldn't sign away its sovereignty to empty its reservoirs while its own people starve. Egypt has never negotiated in good faith and has spent decades trying to destabilize Ethiopia to keep a monopoly on the river. Ethiopia owes Cairo nothing—it’s time to prioritize domestic energy and development over Egyptian leverage.

​አዲስ አበባ፣ ባህር ዳር፣ ሀዋሳ፣ ድሬዳዋ ወዘተ የማን ናቸው? ለሚለው ጥያቄ ቅንና ትክክለኛው ምላሽ የኢትዮጵያውያን ወይም የከተሞቹ ነዋሪዎች ናቸው የሚል መሆን ሲገባው፣ በአሁኑ ወቅት በሀገራዊ የምክክር ኮሚሽኑ አጀንዳዎች ላይ የምናየው የአዲስ አበባ ባለቤትነት ውዝግብ በጣም የሚያሳስብና የሚያስገርም ነው።

​አዲስ አበባ የአዲስ አበቤዎች ሳይሆን የኦሮሚያ ናት ማለት ምን ማለት ነው? የአዲስ አበባ ነዋሪዎች ኢትዮጵያውያን አይደሉም ማለት ነው? ወይስ ኦሮሚያ ኢትዮጵያዊ አይደለም?

ግን አዲስ አበባ የኦሮሚያ ነው ማለት ከንቲባውን፣ ሲቪል ሰራተኞችን፣ ፖሊሶችንና የደንብ አስከባሪዎችን ሳይቀር የኦሮሚያ ክልል መንግስት የሚያዛቸውና የሚመድብ ከሆነ፡ የአዲስ አበባ ነዋሪዎች የዜግነት መብት ፈጽሞ የላቸውም ማለት ነው። አዲስ አበቤዎች የከተማ ተወካዮቻቸውን መርጠው በተወኮዮቻቸው አማካይነት የሚከፍሉትን ታክስ እራሳቸው ካልወሰኑና የተሰበሰበውን ገቢ ካልተቆጣጠሩ፣ የዜግነት መብታቸው ሙሉ በሙሉ ተገፏል ማለት ነው።

የአዲስ አበባ ነጋዴ ወይም ባለሀብት የሚከፍለው ግብር፣ ስለ ከተማዋ ነባራዊ ሁኔታና ታክስ ህግ ግንዛቤ በሌላቸው የኦሮሚያ መንግስት በሚመድባቸው አካላት የሚወሰን ከሆነ ነዋሪው ምንም ዓይነት የዜግነት መብት የለውም ማለት ነው።

​በኢትዮጵያ ህወሓት (ወያኔ) የፈጠረውና በወቅታዊው የፖለቲካ አካሄድ የቀጠለው የብሔር ማንነት ውጥንቅጥ አሁንም ድረስ አደገኛ ቀውስ ሆኖ ቀጥሏል። ለምሳሌ ባህር ዳር የአማራ ናት የሚለው አስተሳሰብ ለምን አስፈለገ? ባህር ዳር የሚኖር ጉራጌ ከተማዋ የሱ አይደለችም ማለት ነው? ለምንስ ባህር ዳር በውስጧ ለሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን ሁሉ አትሆንም? ደሴ የሚኖር አማራ ባህር ዳር ውስጥ ከሚኖር ጉራጌ የበለጠ መብት አለው ማለት የፖለቲካ ድንቁርና አይደለምን?
​እስካሁን የጠ/ሚ አብይ ደጋፊ ነበርኩ፤ ጠ/ሚሩ ቅን አሳቢ ናቸው የሚል እምነትም ነበረኝ። ነገር ግን የሀገራዊ ምክክርሩን ቀጥሎ አዲስ አበባ ወይ ራሷን የቻለች ክልል (City State) ካልሆነች፣ አሊያም ተጠሪነቷ ለፌዴራል መንግስት ሆኖ ነዋሪዎቿ ራሳቸውን በራሳቸው የሚያስተዳድሩባት ከተማ እንድትሆን ካልተወሰነ፣ አብይም እንደ መለስ ዜናዊ በብሔር ፖለቲካ የተበተቡና የዜጎችን እኩልነት የማይቀበሉ ናቸው ወደሚል ድምዳሜ ለመድረስ እገደዳለሁ።

BREAKING: TPLF Mercenary Column Annihilated by Drone Strikes Along Road From Sinjah to Damazin In Sudan. Locals Turn On Wounded Survivors. ⚔️🤔

Hundreds of fighters of TPLF’s army 70s were hit by dozens of drone strikes on the road between Sinjah and Damazin, Sudan.

According to battlefield sources, it is not clear whether these drones came from Ethiopia or from Sudan’s own RSF, which has on previous occasions engaged Tigrayan mercenaries fighting on behalf of the SAF led by General Al Burhan.

The formation, part of Army 70’s Corps 2 [702], had departed from frontline positions near Jebel Moya in Sudan's Blue Nile region. Boarding a fleet of transport trucks, the fighters were heading to Shererina to reinforce ongoing combat operations against Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF).

But their advance was cut short. As the convoy was about 40 kilometers from away from Damazin, an aerial strike slammed into the column, rendering the entire unit combat-ineffective in an instant.

The aftermath took an even grimmer turn. Instead of evacuating the critically wounded mercenaries to field hospitals, local residents reportedly swarmed the wreckage, seized the fighters' weapons, and turned them against the survivors.

Casualty figures are staggering: our sources confirm that anywhere between 400 to 600 members of Army 70 brigade were killed along a 46 KM stretch of road.

@officialrnintel Correction: TPLF mafia group started war this morning in Shererina, not Sheraro. Shererina is located in north-west Amara region bordering Sudan. "Army 70" is based in Sudan and deeply involved in Sudan's civil war as a mercenary force for SAF against RSF.

TPLF launched its attack on Ethiopia today. Following last week's meeting in Asmara involving Eritrea's dictator Isaias Afwerki, TPLF hardliners, and Sudanese representatives, many view the offensive as coordinated.

TPLF leaders have publicly declared their intention to overthrow the Ethiopian government with support from Eritrea, Sudan, and Egypt. Egypt has also long been accused by Ethiopia of backing anti-government groups in Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian government has repeatedly sought to resolve its dispute with TPLF hardliners through peaceful means to avoid another devastating war. However, if Ethiopia is attacked, it has the right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. In my view, lasting peace in the Horn of Africa will require eliminating TPLF's ignorant hardliners and ending the destabilizing role of the Asmara regime, which I believe has been a major source of regional instability.
