LGBTQ youth are more at risk for depression, anxiety and suicide than their non-LGBTQ peers. Often isolation or a lack of family acceptance can increase those risks. Yet there is hope when adequate care and supports can be provided.
Safe environments, resources & services for LGBTQ+ youth mental health can make a difference. In a 2023 survey, the @TrevorProject found that 41% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, including about half of transgender & nonbinary youth
