Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin makes its journey down the Mall to the Palace of Westminster, where it will Lie-in-State until the morning of the State Funeral.
Her Majesty The Queen had a close relationship with the Armed Forces throughout her life.
Today, members from all three Armed Forces will play an important role as Her Majesty’s coffin makes its journey from Buckingham Palace to the Palace Westminster.
Queen Elizabeth's was a life well lived; a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of lifelong service I renew to you all today.
“My mother felt deeply, I know, the significance of the role she herself played in bringing together those whom history had separated, and in extending a hand to make possible the healing of long-held hurts.”
The King’s reply to the message of condolence at Hillsborough Castle:

A poem in memory of Her Majesty The Queen from the Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage:
His Majesty The King and The Queen Consort attended a Service of Reflection for the life of HM Queen Elizabeth II at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
Dignitaries, representatives from civic society & the wider community across NI were among the congregation paying their respects.
"I was fortunate to share the last 24 hours of my dearest Mother’s life. It has been an honour and a privilege to accompany her on her final journeys.
"Witnessing the love and respect shown by so many on these journeys has been both humbling and uplifting."
