“Hidden Heroes Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people who work tirelessly in prisons, probation, and youth custody services. Their dedication, compassion, and resilience to deliver punishment that cuts crime is truly extraordinary.”
Lord Timpson, Minister of State, MoJ
Happy Hidden Heroes Day to all of our extraordinary staff at HMP Wealstun and our colleagues across @hmpps 👏
Thank you for your continued dedication and pride to protect the public and change lives.

#HiddenHeroes Day 2025 is 24 September – a day to remember the men and women working in UK prisons, probation and youth justice services; thank them for their service; and remind them they’re not forgotten even if they are largely hidden from public view.

🌿Thanks to tea and treat purchases at the Tea Bar – and extra support from The Nature Effect CIC – a brand new garden space has opened for families visiting loved ones at @HMPBullingdon.🌿
It’s more than just greenery. It’s a calm, welcoming space where children can play, and families can relax and reconnect with nature while waiting for their visit.
Family visits reduce reoffending by 39%. Pact works hard with prisons to make the visiting process as welcoming and family-friendly as possible. 💚

HMP Bullingdon knows the importance of visiting a loved one in prison over the festive period 🎄.
Because there won't be social visits on Christmas or New Year's day, additional visits sessions will be held on Monday 23rd and 30th. https://t.co/izEkgwF5Dd
