Great work from our I-Wing who organised a 25k challenge to raise money for @CR_UK.
Our prisoners showed strong teamwork & focus as they worked together to cycle, row or run on gym equipment to reach the 25k distance. Staff also got involved & we've raised £358 so far!
For @MindCharity#TimeToTalk Day, we're encouraging our staff to take time out of their day to check in with each other, promote support services and debunk myths around mental health.
Congratulations to Jahangir who has been commended by the @butlertrust 👏
Jahangir always goes above and beyond what is expected from him, showing his passion to want to help and support people, find out more ⬇️

Thanks to Chaplaincy volunteers Angie, Judith and Wendy for supporting the Angel Tree Project with the support of @prisonfellowshp. The projects helps parents in prison give Christmas presents to their children to maintain family ties which in turn aids rehabilitation.
Very proud of our prisoners who have donated £1037.20 to Ummah Welfare Trust following the Morocco and Libya Crisis. Prisoners wanted to show their support for those who were caught up in the recent flooding and earthquake.
Our Chaplaincy team facilitated our first victim awareness course with Sycamore Tree to teach the principles of restorative justice to aid rehabilitation.
We're the 56th prison to run this accredited programme nationally.
Thanks to @PFenglandwales & our dedicated volunteers.
We're celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth with a range of activities for both prisoners and staff.
We've organised sporting events to help prisoners build team working and communication skills. We're also working with @foodbehindbars to provide prisoners with hospitality experience.
Today we acknowledge those who work in prisons. @HMPSwinfenHall have some fantastic staff who work alongside our men to improve futures. Special shout out to my team. Hard working, resilient, supportive and overall just brilliant. Thanks to all who support me too.
Happy #HiddenHeroesDay to all of our extraordinary staff at Swinfen Hall and our colleagues across @hmpps 👏

If you would like to also support our officer please follow this link https://t.co/ZtV2TpIzCi any money will go towards the Anton and his family making some amazing memories with Kai.
Incredible work from our gym department who held a Kilometres for Kai challenge, where staff and prisoners raised money for an officer's son who's sadly unwell.
PE staff took part in a marathon (42km) on four different gym equipment and a 40kg farmers walk which took 6.5 hours!
Chaplaincy have completed another ‘Being Dad’ parenting course to help prisoners build positive family relationships while in custody and continue upon release. Having a strong family unit is vital to stop the cycle of reoffending.
Thanks @MothersUnion for facilitating this 👏
Back to @HMPSwinfenHall next week, training the lads on new bistro recipes. It’s going to be a busy few days! hopefully the lads enjoy learning the new recipes and the staff are excited to try them. We have lots of different dishes to work on. Including: potato chaat salad,

We go back and forth like a childish game,
But what do we gain?
When did arguments become more entertaining than debates?
Why has it become the norm to spread hate?
We all need to dismount from our high horse,
Quickly, because peace falls to pieces when it meets discourse.
The below is the winning entry of a poem written by another prisoner during Peace Week:
Peace Falls to Pieces
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But words hurt more than action.
We live in a world where love is questioned,
And hate is fast gaining traction.
We only get worse when we try to get better,
Because we’ve become so frightened of change.
Its so typically British to wish for the sun,
But then curse its arrival and pray for more rain.
We do it over and over, again and again,
Begging to leave but wishing we’d stayed.
