The @prostateunited challenge is complete!

Over £1,000 raised in partnership with Exeter City FC, Devon Fire & Rescue Service and the PFA. Great work from our PE department on raising awareness surrounding Prostate Cancer & signposting staff and offenders to support information.

This October, our staff working in the PE department are raising awareness of @ProstateUK and signposting men, both staff and prisoners, for prostate screenings.

Staff are also fundraising for Prostate United by walking, running and cycling everyday.

Another productive wellbeing event held at HMP Exeter last week for #WorldMentalHealthDay. Prisoners worked with staff to organise the event which promoted support and recovery information from partner agencies to help aid rehabilitation. #teamwork

Did you know at HMP Exeter we have @samaritans Listeners?🦻

It's a peer-support scheme where prisoners volunteer & are trained by the Samaritans to support other prisoners with wellbeing when they most need it, while also gaining valuable life skills. #WorldMentalHealthDay 🟢

Our first recovery month event! Amazing attendance throughout the day to learn more about recovery and the support on offer with pop-up information from partner agencies, celebrating success of recovery and a relay race on the row machine to build teamwork. Great work 👏

We held a wellbeing event on our exercise yard. The day involved a poetry competition to help improve literacy skills, a rowing challenge to build on teamwork & pop-up information about the support available from our partner agencies. Amazing engagement between prisoners & staff!

This month we see the introduction of the 30 second pre-record function for body worn video cameras. Used by police forces across the country, and captures the 30 seconds before the record button is pressed. Keeping staff and prisoners safe! #safetyfirst 📸

We were lucky to have Michael Maisey & his team from the Change Is Possible Project this week running a workshop with some prisoners to help them understand & develop self-awareness which aids rehabilitation.

We held our 6th Construction Job Shop last week with @TaylorWimpey and @ShawTrust where our prisoners had great discussion about working in the industry, the support available for employment on release and follow-up work to action.
