Another successful Wellbeing Day for all of our staff 💚

Activities included a charity cake sale, flower planting, a full body MOT as well as a delicious lunch during staff break time. These crucial events help promote mental & physical wellbeing & strengthen our team culture.

The Education, Skills and Work team delivered a successful Careers Event to showcase the activities available here at HMP The Mount to aid development, support wellbeing and improve skills and knowledge that will help increase opportunities for employment upon release.

Inspirational speaker Clive Branson delivered an engaging talk on his challenging journey through his mental and physical setbacks.

He spoke to prisoners about maintaining a positive mindset and staying resilient to help reduce reoffending.

We held a great visits day where families read & listened to Roald Dahl's The Twits. Each child was also given a book to take home! 📚

December saw our second group graduate the FA Developing Leadership through Football coaching qualification delivered in partnership with @SpursFoundation & @ProjectTwinning where our men gained valuable skills for employment upon release. Well done to all involved 👏

Smart Managed Solutions has offered one of our men an apprenticeship with their team & it comes with accommodation! ‍👏 He starts in January & will be mentored by a 100 & First Foundation trustee. Thanks to For Tim Project for this collaboration & opportunities at HMP The Mount.

🎓 We welcomed back an ex-prisoner to HMP The Mount this week to give an inspiring talk to prisoners & staff. Our guest, who turned his life around after leaving prison, told his attentive audience how & what he did to change and his success in life coaching & entrepreneurship.

Our volley🏀 team, “Los Tigres” faced “Werewolves” in their first Herts Volleyball Assoc. league match! Although we lost 3-0, we showed great spirit and sportsmanship which our winning visitors recognised.
Our next home match is on 25/11/23 v “The Hawks”. Good luck Los Tigres!

👏 WELL DONE to our Programmes Team who hosted a coffee and cake sale to raise money for @macmillancancer, and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who bought cake! Together we raised £194.61 to support people living with cancer💚
