Scientists from @portsmouthuni are on a mission aboard @HMSProtector to safeguard one of the world’s most fragile environments.

Dr. Keiron Roberts and the @UoPPlastics team collected water and sediments samples in Antarctica to measure human impact from tourism.

Alongside Punta Arenas 🇨🇱 five members of the Ship’s Company of PROTECTOR took part in the ‘Supera tu Marca’ 10km run 🏃‍♂️ . All did well, including a couple of personal bests, and a second place 🥈 podium finish for the First Lieutenant!

To mark the anniversary of the Battle of Coronel, members of the Ship’s Company, supported by our Chilean friends paid tribute at the memorial in Coronel to the 1,660 Royal Navy Officers and sailors who were lost 110 years ago today. @UKinChile 🇬🇧 🇨🇱

While the Ship undergoes maintenance in Talcahuano, Chile a group of us took the opportunity to take part in the Concepción Half Marathon and 10km run. Great atmosphere and we got a shout out for bringing the weather! 🇨🇱
