Taught Year 3s how Victorians did their washing at @Lynn_Museum today and then rewarded their hard labour with tasty peppermint creams - we do spoil them! 🍬
A splendid time had making Potato Chocolate Truffles with families today at @Lynn_Museum’s Wartime Christmas event! 🥔
We had some interesting reactions from children and adults alike, and some very brave individuals trying the truffle all in one!
We had a jolly Tudor Christmas with a local school group at @Lynn_Museum and @storiesoflynn today!
With me the children explored Tudor household objects and made gingerbread bites from a 14th century recipe - yummy! 🫚
Had lovely school groups at @Lynn_Museum yesterday learning about Guy Fawkes! We made some very indulgent spiced wine (a child-friendly version, of course) 🍷
Taught home educated and local school children about witches and how to create their own witch bottles at @Lynn_Museum today! They all made their own bottle to take home and bury 🪄
I ran the brass rubbing activity in medieval garb for King’s Lynn’s Dragon Festival at @StGGuildhall today!
Look at this big ol’ brass from the @Lynn_Museum collection - beautiful! 🖍️
My museum costume table at Gathered at @GressenhallFW today!
It was so great to talk to so many textile lovers! And to see a lot of the costumes I’ve made on display 🧵
I’ll be at @GressenhallFW’s Gathered at Gressenhall event tomorrow (Sunday 29 September) between 1.30-4pm!
I’ll be bringing along a selection of historical costumes I’ve made and discussing the art of museum costume 🪡
So what did Hayley do this afternoon at work, you may ask.
Well, I made a Viking shield out of cardboard with the Norfolk flag pattern of course! For people to take pictures with at @Lynn_Museum’s Vikings day next week 🗡️
It was Roman’s day today at @Lynn_Museum! I made miniature shields with the children and lightly introduced them to army formations!
Highlights of the day include being told I’m a child’s favourite and being gifted a drawing of me :3
