What an amazing experience it was to be in 4th grade for my first student teaching placement. It was so hard to leave, but I'm also very excited for my second placement in 4th and 5th grade! #teaching
So proud of my students. Today ended our Lewis and Clark unit. They wrote journals as if they were someone on the expedition. Some shared their writings with the class today. (Also it was pajama day)
Playing "Hello my name is" in math. Each student got a name tag that said "Hello my name is" and then a decimal. They went around the room searching for decimals that fit each blank on a worksheet.
The last 2 days my 4th graders have been learning about the Lewis and Clark expedition and using guided notes. Today we drew pictures of 4 stops they made to help us remember.
Today in math, we rotated between centers so review how to measure angles. The students' favorite station was a game we played on the Smartboard where they had to guess what angles would look like. At another station we measured angles of different shapes.
All week we have been researching different characteristics of the Ojibwa Tribe. Using our research, we have been making posters and will be presenting to the class on Monday!
Today we did math centers in 4th grade to reinforce the concept of multiplying whole numbers by fractions that we learned last week. We worked on online games, word problems, and played fraction war with cards!
Acting out our scenes from "The Lightning Thief" was so much fun! The students did such a good job getting into their characters. Monday Funday was a success! #acting#4thgrade@camphalfblood
Over the past 2 weeks, we have been reading "The Lightning Thief" by @camphalfblood The students have been the "movie directors" and created film strips to show the different scene of each chapter. Today we are acting out our scenes! Its Monday Funday in 4th grade! #4th#teaching
It's been so fun teaching 5th grade about the New England Colonies. Today they wrote cards as if they lived in the colonies and drew some awesome pictures too! On to the Middle Colonies tomorrow. @BelleKivalaGCC @MaryBuchananGCC
Doing a presentation with @HNSonger on @DrewDaywalt 's book "The Day The Crayons Quit" & it is now our favorite book! Really excited to use this in our future classrooms. We don't teach for a couple more years, but we each might just buy it now!! :)
After learning about process writing in Primary Lit, we went through the writing process ourselves. This is me reading my final product at our authors tea today! #literacy#processwriting
