It's been a few years. Gonna do a full playthrough - BG1, 2 & 3. As always, I just want to hit reroll one... more... time. Human fighter, of course.
Tease.
They truly understand quality over quantity... made an industry changing game and now on to a totally new project. Keeping that small developer mentality in a big studio is a precious thing π
Larian nearly made Baldur's Gate 4, it was partially playable and 'something that you all would have liked', but the studio didn't want to spend another 3 years on it. https://t.co/QeTOkdvyvW
@Rexfaroensis Mainly The Hidden quest line but also Durlag's Tower and all the doppelgangers, the Nalia de'Arnise questline and the whole infiltration of Athkatla nobles.
It has been over 20 years and I still don't know what Bioware wanted to do with those uncompleted quests in BG2... I like to think they contribute to an enormously complex iceberg theory of Baldur's Gate 3 π
@VikGray Which plot issues did you have? I thought it was extremely well written. There were a few things that seemed added in at the last minute but I found the story very compelling.
After giving it some thought, I think dice rolling in BG3 works immensely well in multiplayer because it's essentially fun to fail with friends. I don't love it on single player and prefer more traditional CRPG mechanics.
@Artie_Pavlov Jaheira has a necklace from Khalid but I haven't come across many other references. Abdul Adrian is referenced but he's named Gorion's ward in most documents
Gothric Rillyn - part of the Rillyn family, a patriar family in the city. The family now runs a martial combat academy but they had strong links to the guild. We can find another reference to the family in this letter.
This is Eldoth Kron, a morally dubious bard from the first game. He probably would have gotten along well with Astarion given one of his quotes: "There is no good or evil, only the charming and the tedious."
