Thought about this a bit more and I get the rage baiting and it’s for clicks but I am a sucker for biting.
Take away the boring stereotype of the drunken Scot which has been done to death.
This allows kids to watch Scotland at a World Cup without going to school on the Monday knackered. It hasn’t happened in 28 years. My wee boy and his pals are buzzing about it.
So essentially get yourselves to fuck.
Football should bring people together, not shut them out.
For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right.
This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club.
Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match.
I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
You are a hypocrite, @Carra23. You tell football fans how to feel for a living.
You were telling Casemiro to retire. You've told Manchester United fans how to feel for years about their club, players, manager, new stadium, ownership.
You were telling Myles Lewis-Skelly how to celebrate a goal & Arsenal fans how to feel celebrating a win. You were telling West Ham, Aston Villa & Everton fans how to feel about losing Rice, Grealish & Gordon.
Now that it's Liverpool, nobody can give their opinion on the situation. Could you be more of a walking contradiction?
✍️ "Within the next 5-10 years a lot of people will convert to non league/lower league." 👀
This guy has got it SPOT ON talking about the current state of the game. 👏
@ScotlandSky Ban has been in place for over 40 years, so what evidence is he talking about? It is an outdated rule that makes no sense, 99.9% of people would go to football and enjoy a pint without any issue. Similar to every other part of society. Fun police at it again.
Astonishing and yet not surprising that the Scottish government are now backtracking on any notion of overturning the absurd ban on alcohol at Scottish Football matches.
Football fans still being treated like second class citizens because of something that happened 44 years ago.
And let's quash the usual knicker wetting responses right now;
1) Yes we can do without a drink for 90 minutes. Nobody is suggesting we sit and drink at our seats during the game. A pre match or half time beer in the stadium might be a nice choice to have though.
2) No, nobody is suggesting that fans rock up with carry outs at the turnstyles or that's there's a full range of optics at the pie stall.
3) Yes, there might be a case for not selling alcohol at high risk games. All games are already categorised anyway, so it's not difficult to switch the taps off at individual games.
4) Yes, as amazing as it might seem, plenty people do already drink alcohol before attending games. They have these places called pubs.
5) No, fans wouldn't be chucking glass bottles at each other in the stands. A plastic pint of 4% beer ain't going to spark any sort of riot.
6) Yes, in England, where they have a massive history of domestic and international football violence that far outweighs anything ever seen in Scotland, they are still allowed to have a beer.
The ban is completely out of date, completely unfair, and utterly stupid.
@MikeyBoy025@ScottBurns75@AberdeenFC It should never have been a red card, but once it was given by VAR etc, that appeal was always going to fail. Ruining the game slowly but surely.
