Just a reminder: j-hope, aka Jung Hoseok, is the last person anyone should accuse of shirking his patriotic duty as a Korean man. Throughout his mandatory military service, he conducted himself exemplarily, both as an active-duty soldier and as a citizen of his country, serving honorably without scandal or any violation of the law.

While serving at the Republic of Korea Army's 36th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province, he:
- was appointed an Assistant Instructor
- served as a Squad Leader
- was appointed a Peer Counselor Soldier
- earned Special-Class Elite Warrior status
- received a commendation as an Outstanding Assistant Instructor
- received Excellent Squad recognition alongside his trainees
- won the Top Excellence Award at the 2024 "Strong Warrior, Army!" Presentation Competition
- earned early promotions for exemplary service
- received multiple commendations recognizing his exemplary conduct, performance, and contributions

By the time he completed his service, he had earned the respect and affection of his superiors, fellow soldiers, and trainees. That regard did not end with his discharge. To this day, people who served with or trained under him continue to speak highly of his character and leadership, with some even going out of their way to support him in his career as an artist.

Whatever one may think of j-hope as a celebrity, his military record speaks for itself. His service was not merely an obligation he fulfilled; he distinguished himself through the responsibilities entrusted to him, the qualifications he earned, and the recognition he received for how he carried them out. It is a hallmark of his character, on and off the stage, in and out of uniform.
