@FionaCampbell74 Short-term rentals don’t support communities long-term. Guests don’t use doctors, dentists, shop regular at grocery, participate in civic life. STLs make $$ for operators.
@rekt20XX@Trader_Shaw@NipseyHoussle@vrbo@Airbnb Until you've lived it, it's impossible to appreciate.
You've never had a neighbor that parties with 10+ people every day and night of the year.
I hope you never do.

My apartment building has been RUINED by @Airbnb
From drunk guests who think it is funny to steal doormats…to domestic disputes… and everything in between.
AirB&B has absolutely ruined good communities, and made finding a rental unattainable.

Lately, I’ve been been reflecting a lot about the value of neighbors & community & the reasons people seek out homes in residential neighborhoods where they can be part of a community & form relationships with neighbors. 1/6
@kjxoxo@addis_fasika@jeremypgordon I will say, it's hard to imagine what it's like until you do live next to one (which is why I think people still stay in them).
If you wouldn't mind it, and aren't just overlooking the problems they cause, I hope you live next to one one day and save a family that does mind.
Short term rentals that replace trusted neighbors with a constant flow of strangers make Fort Worth neighborhoods less safe and attract crime to our communities. @CityofFortWorth, please start enforcing our zoning laws that disallow STRs in residential areas!
This post is blowing up on the Nashville subreddit. Young people do not see a future for themselves here.
City rules allow up to 12 tourists to stay in a home but no more than 3 actual residents. This is cruel and unfair and we can change it.
LET. PEOPLE. LIVE. HERE.
Allowing our residential housing to be turned into lodging businesses doesn’t make sense! Dallas / Fort Worth leads the nation in hotel construction. Lack of hotels is not an issue, but lack of longterm housing is. #AirbnbSucks#VrboSucks https://t.co/fDIE4WpqQo
@jankaiponen1 I don't think putting hotels in neighborhoods cleans them up or draws in trendy businesses. It destroys them. It destroys the peace, social fabric, and housing affordability for locals. It replaces businesses serving long term residents with businesses serving folks on vacation.
Platforms like Airbnb take 1000s of homes out of the #housing market all over the 🌍 and have been shown to erode social cohesion in communities. Join us in the fight 2 protect the #RightToHousing.

@AirbnbHelp one of your tenants broke the terms of their lease but continues to rent through Airbnb. police arrested one of your guests. the host continues to rent it despite safety violations. is it your policy to enable this behavior? or does Airbnb not care?
