Sheridan was the joyful, energetic girl who appointed herself guardian of the kindergarten “buddy bench.” She’d watch and wait, then rush over to grab the hand of any lonely kid and pull them into the game. Pure compassion. Pure light.

On March 19th she went to the Chicago lakefront hoping to see the northern lights with friends.
She never made it home.

The man charged with gunning her down? Jose Medina, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who should’ve NEVER been here.
