This happened during Beijing Winter Olympics. A vlogger visited a man referred to as Mr. D, who had gained internet fame as a "father of eight" living in poverty. While filming the premises, the vlogger discovered a woman, later identified as Xiaohuamei, living barefoot in a filthy, freezing shed with a metal chain locked around her neck. She appeared malnourished, disoriented, and was being fed in a dog bowl. Mr. D claimed he chained her to protect his family because she was "mentally ill" and violent.

After investigation she was identified as Xiao Huamei. Basically what happened was that her parents got divorced and Xiao Huamei moved to a new City with her Mom. At the age of 17 she was a physically and mentally healthy young girl. She marries at 17 years age and that marriage lasts only 2 years. After she divorces her husband and goes back to live with her Mom, she has become mentally disabled, unable to speak properly. She was suffering from multiple mental illnesses.

So her neighbour Sang tell Xiao Huamei's Mom that she should get her married again. So Xiao Huamei is taken away for marriage but in reality Sang was a human trafficker and 21 year old Xiao Huamei got sold to a man in a local village for $620. This is the FIRST time she's sold.

After 4 months Xiao Huamei ran away from that place and travelled 400 miles away to a different province. There an old couple takes her in, they were a restaurant owner. For a month Xiao Huamei lived there comfortably, helping around chores but then the old couple sold Xiao Huamei to the migrant workers in a near construction site. This is the SECOND time she's sold.

So the construction workers bought her and took her to their home town. There in that village the migrant workers sold her to a man in the name of marriage. She then gives birth to a boy and gets a IUD device was inserted in her ovary to prevent more pregnancy as China had 1 child policy that time. Still after 10 years her IUD device was ineffective and she gave birth more from the time she was 34 yrs to 43 yrs old. Longest gap between her pregnancies was 14 months.

Xiao Huamei's marriage registration was investigated. The thing is that the marriage registration office didn't ask for her ID because they knew that Xiao Huamei was trafficked, she was a purchased woman. Even villagers never reported because it was normal for them to see purchased women trafficked in villages. Its very normal to buy wives in China.

Just in this province since 1986 close to 50,000 women have been sold and bought by traffickers.

There's a saying "In villages women are sold like pigs and dogs because they save the village."

In China kidnapping a woman or kid gets you max 10 years of imprisonment and buying an kidnapped woman or kid gets you max 3 years of jail time or public service. So punishment kidnapped woman or kid is very light. 🚨🚨
