@HMBohemond I started with video games, then read some books and actually bought a started set a week ago to get into the tabletop.
While I do not think it's a requirement or make you less of a fan, I would at least say that newer fans that never have should give the tabletop a chance.
By age 30 you should have:
- 4 Warhammer Armies
- Esoteric and strange politics
- 3 playlists full of the strangest metal ever made
- a drinking cup made from the skull of an enemy
If your friends don’t have these things, you’re in the wrong crowd.
Ultima Online once had an in-game king who was supposed to be unkillable.
He was played by the creator of the game.
During a public speech, someone threw a fire field spell at him.
The server had crashed earlier, and when he logged back in, his invincibility flag wasn’t on.
So the king just died in front of everyone.
The devs spawned demons in revenge.
The assassin escaped.
I'm a massive fan of good commentators, some of the greatest goals of all time wouldn't be what they are without the calls but i wish no commentary was an option. Something wonderful about hockey's natural sounds.
