A further point of clarification: HPNA has not taken an official position on the contemplated transit bond for 2020 - but in 2012, membership did vote to support inclusion of light rail in that year's transit bond, and again urged the city to support light rail in 2016.
HPNA relies on membership votes to take official positions on matters of neighborhood concern. At the same time, HPNA is non-partisan and does not endorse candidates for any type of elected office or election items, such as bond propositions or resident-initiated referenda. (1/3)
HPNA has not taken an official position on light rail but supported the Hyde Park Neighborhood Plan & Imagine Austin which contemplates light rail along Guadalupe & improved public transit more broadly. We welcome questions & comments at [email protected] (2/3)
Finally, we have changed administration of the HPNA_Austin Twitter account and will develop guidelines and protocols for its use. Thank you- Sarah Cook & Betsy Clubine, Co-presidents, HPNA (3/3)

🐾Paw-sitive news: #ATXCouncil approves a contract for a mobile veterinary clinic to provide animal sterilization and vaccinations. Spay + neuter services are a major component of the programs that sustain Austin’s success as the nation’s largest "no-kill" community.
All who knew & learned from Dorothy Richter are sad & will miss her. She was strong & made sure anyone in office knew what she expected. She did much good. A favorite picture is from '97 at the Hyde Park Fire Station w/ her & Cooper. Thank you, Dorothy. https://t.co/sp7mMFaWGj
