Our Mayor comes to our roll calls, FOP meetings, goes on ridealongs, and actively participates with our officers in making Houston safer on a daily basis. We love our Mayor and he loves Houston.
Can NYPD say the same thing about their Mayor?

It was an honor to see former Congressman Kevin Brady at Houston City Council this morning.
For years, Congressman Brady fought to eliminate the unfair Social Security provisions that penalized police officers and other public servants, repeatedly introducing legislation to correct the injustice. Although he retired from Congress before the Social Security Fairness Act finally became law, this fight was truly a labor of love for him.
The Houston Police Officers’ Union is proud to thank and honor Congressman Brady for his years of persistence, leadership, and commitment to the men and women who serve our communities.
Our friend, Steven David, is stepping down as Mayor Whitmire’s Chief Operations Officer and transitioning into an advisory role on the Mayor’s team.
The Houston Police Officers’ Union has had the privilege of working closely with Steven for several years. Throughout that time, he has always been accessible, responsive, and willing to assist whenever called upon. His professionalism and commitment to serving the City of Houston have made him a valued partner to our officers.
While we’ll miss working with him in his current capacity, we look forward to continuing our strong relationship as he begins this new chapter.
We wish Steven and his family nothing but the very best and thank him for his continued service to our city. Houston is better because of dedicated public servants like Steven David.
It is an honor to once again be appointed to the Commision on Judicial Conduct. Thank you @GregAbbott_TX for allowing crime victims to be represented on the commission. Also thank you to my friend and mentor @akahancrimesto1.
Mayor John Whitmire (@whitmire_john) made a surprise visit to today’s HPOU Board Meeting to personally thank our members for their continued hard work and dedication to the City of Houston.
We appreciate Mayor Whitmire taking the time to stop by and show his support. Thank you, Mayor!
We were proud to represent the Houston Police Department today at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil in Washington, D.C.
Police Week is a solemn reminder of the cost of this profession and the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. We stand with the families, friends, and agencies of every fallen officer whose name is forever honored on the Memorial.
To our HPD brothers and sisters we have lost, and to every officer across this country who never made it home, we remember you, we honor you, and we will never forget your sacrifice. We'll take it from here.
