Here's an interesting graphic from Metroline.

I've never seen the 1.2 metres figure before (normally 1.5m is quoted by police etc.).

I suppose if I ALWAYS got "at least 1.2 metres" when overtaken by a bus, let alone the, er, 2 metres shown, I'd be a lot happier than I am now.
