During Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we will continue to educate you on all things mental health/mental illness. There is no single cause of mental illness. Multiple mental illnesses can occur simultaneously and may arise at random. They can also vary in duration.
Several factors may contribute to the development of mental illness, including:
- Alcohol/drug use
- Feelings of loneliness
- Biological factors or chemical imbalances in the brain
- Adverse childhood experiences, such as child abuse or sexual assault
- Cancer or diabetes, etc.
This means firms like Interdynamics, Inc. matter more now than ever. Our presence in this field is not just about representation—it’s about relevance and resonance. If you are in need of mental health support, call us at (301) 306-4590 or text/email [email protected].
July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the unique challenges that racial and ethnic minorities in the U.S. face regarding mental health. Mental health disparities persist across racial and ethnic minority groups in the U.S.
Many obstacles contribute to this disparity, including a lack of health insurance, limited access to treatment, and stigma surrounding mental illness. Cultural insensitivity and the lack of culturally competent screening tools also contribute to underdiagnosis and underreporting.
This year, Mental Health Awareness Week begins on May 12th, 2025, and runs until May 18th. The theme for this year is "Community." Being part of a safe and positive community is essential for our mental health and well-being. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
