A Viet friend once told me he’s tired of stories rehashing the Vietnam War and its aftermath.

While I do agree there are other stories that can be told, I also think that these types of events are so major to diaspora identities, it’s hard to avoid them.

I sincerely thank U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra for reaching out to me as Wainwright’s MP with an offer of medical assistance. We deeply appreciate this gesture of support for our injured soldiers and their families at such a difficult time.

We have informed the Minister of National Defence and the Government of Alberta of the offer so they can determine whether these additional resources and expertise are needed.
