Interesting Goat facts you didn't know

- Goats discovered Coffee, a goat herder in Ethiopia discovered his goat became energized & wouldn't sleep at night when they eat a particular berries (coffee)

- Goats were one of the first animals that humans domesticated, about 9000 years ago.

- Mother goats cannot recognize their kid by sight, only by sound & scent each kid has a unique call and smell which their mother recognises.

- Goats are born with their complete set of teeth

- Goat is one of the cleanest animals even cleaner than dog & sheep

- Goats only use one side of their mouths to chew. This is why their jaws move in a circular motion as they chew

- Goats are picky eaters, they will refuse to eat hay that has been walked on or lying around loose for a day

- Kids ( a newly born goat) can get up and walk around just 3-5 minutes after they are born

- Goats have the ability to differentiate between a happy human from an unhappy human, and they prefer to spend time with happy people

- Goats can be taught their name and to come when called.

-Goats use the sneeze sound as an alarm and warning other goats there's a danger or an impending danger

- Goats are able to watch a person solve a problem and copy the person to access a food reward

- Goats hate water, if you want to punish a goat pour water on its body.

- They are the highest milk producer even bigger than cow and sheep (have you drank goat milk before? Lovely)

- The West African dwarf goat is one of the most prolific animal on the planet. According to some source, there's no barren West African dwarf goat ever (both male & female)

Reason why some Nigerian cultures add a goat to a bride's marriage list - the goat signifies fertility for the bride.
