Heath Rangers ‘Real’ Under 14’s 2024/25 playing in the Warrington JFL as Liverpool County Football League suggested we leave when I raised concerns… 🔴⚫️⚽️
Does anyone use Twitter to organise friendlies anymore? Looking for a game Saturday. Can host in Runcorn but will be a 12.30KO due to other league games. Happy to travel as well..

Grass roots youth football hurts my brain!
Why do coaches/volunteers not get educated on equal playing time and position rotation?
Should be one of the major messages on any introductory course!

So after 8 years of coaching my son and his grassroots team our journey has come to an end.
This week my son packed away all his trophies from the last 8 years except one, his U8s managers player award , the one I gave him, this makes me proud and upset at the same time.😢
Unless you have been a parent coach, coaching your child or a player coached by a parent you will never fully understand the challenges and sacrifices this often thankless task brings for both.
As pre season starts I just wanted to shout out them coaches and players. And to everyone else remember in most cases that parent put their hand up when no one else did so look after them!

A recent grassroots survey revealed a whopping 89% of teams have had a player approached by another coach to play for them.
We asked why the craze towards poaching the best players from the area to create an elite team, who does this benefit?

League season done & dusted from our point of view… Good last performance & a bit of luck at last. We’ll be taking advice from league officials to reconsider our place in the league & also some of opposition this year and ‘F-ing off back to Runcorn’… thanks for the hospitality
All joking aside.. There has been class shown by some of peers and we wish you all the best going forward… For everyone else, maybe see you on the other side (of the bridge) at somepoint… Ta ra! regards, The Wools that play in Red and Black 👋🏼❤️🖤
The role of a coach is a thankless task
Why would anyone do it? You have to ask......
No long lie ins at the weekend, busy evenings midweek,
Kids misbehaving and giving you cheek
Parents who don’t reply to a text,
but are usually first to ask “What’s happening next week”
Juggling work with preparing the next training session,
Emails and paperwork, too much to mention
The fees, planning matches and sorting out kit,
There are times being a coach can be totally SH…ambolic
Irregular mealtimes – cue complaints from a spouse,
Who ends up doing everything else in the house
The rearranged plans, endless meetings it seems,
Is it really worth coaching that player or team?
There really are so many reasons galore,
To just avoid coaching and go on and roar
From the sidelines with all of the families and fans,
But you have the calling and a mind full of plans
Yes, it takes dedication from someone special indeed,
To give up their time to help others succeed
But when you realise your hard work has not been in vain,
When little Connor or Katie are top of their game
Months of hard work coming through to fruition,
You can see the results after all that tuition
A player or team being the best they can be,
Is all the reward that you need to see
To all coaches we thank you, to us it’s so clear,
Without all of you, none of us would be here.
An overlooked rule in kids football:
The more game time you give to your 'weaker' players the better they will become.
Coaches that prevent kids from playing are actually making their team worse, not better.
HEATH RANGERS MILAN U11S. LOOKING FOR PLAYERS TO ADD T0 THERE CURRENT SQUAD - as next season 11v11 , so wanting to build squad in preparation @MarkFegan4
An important lesson for parents and coaches 🗣️⚽️
The journey through football can he extremely difficult for children; there’s often so much pressure to achieve, compete against others and impress those who are watching you.
Now more than ever, in the spotlight of social media, so many children feel like they’re “not good enough” or that if they don’t win, they’re not worthy of being a footballer. Add this to the pressure of achieving contracts and maintaining spots in teams, the understanding of children’s emotions is extremely important for coaches and for parents too.
Both in and out of football, I’ve learned a lot about myself emotionally, but more importantly, I’ve learned how crucial it is for me to support the emotions of the kids I work with. Especially within Foundation Development Phase (U7-U11), the process of helping children become better footballers and better people should always be the main focus, as well as helping them be themselves, and feel comfortable in expressing who they are.
This picture from last Saturday is just one of many times I’ve experienced a player who has felt the overwhelming emotions of being on the losing side of a game. It’s never nice to lose, but it’s always massively important to show the players I work with how highly they are thought of, regardless of the match result.
So, my message to you all… parents and coaches…
Try your very best to remind our young players how amazing they are, regardless of a win, draw or loss.
As long as they give 100% and show positive human values, they will make us proud for a very long time to come! 😁
Enjoy your weekends,
