@NolteNC Moonraker is the worst Bond movie. VIEW to a Kill is also terrible. But I do like Roger Moore. It's just that he and Brosnan got some feeble scripts.

Moore - Scripts got pretty ridiculous. Live and Let Die is a top 7 Bond film

@historyrock_ Prince is great but not top ten. People are just blown away that he can shred AND have all his other talent.
All these lists should be clear that it's ROCK. Otherwise, people like Wes Montgomery and his contemporaries would invade the rankings

@NolteNC That Bond's fate was secured by Freddie Mercury rather than Blofeld was utterly ridiculous. It's outrageous they'd end a Bond movie like that. Just stick to the basic original plans and entertain us with an indestructible 007. That's what the people want.

They should have written a blank check to let bald Connery play the role till his death. An old Bond played by Connery would have still crushed it. Could've evolved the character, brought in young agents
,etc.
Either this or let every appropriate, great actor play him once.

Watching all the Bond movies…

Quantum of Solace (2008)…

After hating this movie for almost 20 years, with this run-through the Bond movies, I enjoyed it. Definitely mid-tier, but not the crushing disappointment I remembered.

What I think helped was watching Casino Royale the night before. QOS is so wrapped up with CR, if you don’t remember the dangling CR plot threads around Vesper, much of QOS is confusing.

Her suicide still makes zero sense.

Pros: it’s never boring. The Bond girl is not only hot, but gives a solid performance. Titties return, although briefly, to the opening credit sequence. Exposes the phony environmental movement among the elite.

Cons: Dreadfully directed with hyper-editing and that godforsaken shaky-cam that ruined most every action movie from between 2003 and 2010. The opening car chase… ugh. You feel no tension because it’s such a busy mess you keep trying to catch up to what’s happening.

Even worse is the following scene with the assassination attempt on M. For some reason it’s intercut with a sporting event that has zero to do with the plot. It’s so confusing, I didn’t even know it was an attempt on M until Bond said so later.

Weak villain. Retarded caper. Simple-minded anti-Western politics.

But like I said, never boring. The plot moves and the girls are pretty.

The nods to Goldfinger are also appreciated.

Judi Dench’s M is sooooo much better in the Craig era. I hated her smarter-than-thou smugness and Mary Sue-ing in the Brosnan movies. Here she’s flawed, uncertain at times, frequently on defense, but always a leader and a warm mother figure to Bond. She goes from feminist symbol to a real, living, breathing human being. Dench, of course, is brilliant.

@NolteNC Hot take - it's a bit overrated. There has to be a happy medium between the takes-it-too-seriously Craig movies and the Brosnan comic book stuff.
Some of the scenes in this one are top notch - Like Moneypenny shaving him.

@NolteNC This is the best Bond movie ever! Fiona Volpe is the best Bond girl. Largo is awesome. People who think it's slow-compared to a Bourne, John Wick world, yes. But it's delicious in every way. Bathe in it. They completely nail the format in this one BUT the song could be better 🤷

The main thing that everyone complaining about Elon in this manner should do is list a full accounting of all their charitable donations and works relative to their income.
