Martina’s primary research focuses on the Ptolemaic queens, with a specific interest on the role of Arsinoe II, on which she has numerous publications. Previously, Martina was Chair of Egyptology at Swansea University, and we warmly welcome her back to give this keynote lecture.
We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker this year is Prof. Dr. Martina Minas-Nerpeel, Professor of Egyptology at Trier University. Her lecture is titled: "Manifestations of Ptolemaic power and dynastic struggles on the central east-west axis of the Amun Temple in Karnak"
These restorations & relief decorations are researched & published by the Belgian-German Epigraphic Mission to Karnak, directed by Martina Minas-Nerpel and René Preys (Université de Namur).

Dear all,
The 2nd edition of the Call for Papers of the Hellenistic Study group in Wales is here! With a highly respected scholar as our keynote speaker, we encourage you to submit your outstanding abstracts until the 31st of August
Happy writing everyone!
...it was not only thought provoking, but epitomised one of the key consensuses of conference: the need to expand our understanding of the Hellenistic World in both space and time. Thank you again, Professor Kosmin! @harvardclassics
A massive thank you to Professor Paul Kosmin from @Harvard University, @harvardclassics - for his fantastic keynote lecture "The Global and the Planetary: The Hellenistic World and the Tides of History"...
Another really big thank you to all the staff at @UWTSD Lampeter - the excellent food from the 1820 cafe, the technical support from IT services, and accommodation services and the porters!
We'd like to give a very special thanks to the archivists at @UWTSD Lampeter library for allowing us to view their special collections. An enthralling hour looking through grand tour volumes, as well some 15th, 13th and 18th century manuscripts.
Wow! What a great couple of days at @UWTSD Lampeter - full of fantastic presentations, wonderful discussions and camaraderie. We are grateful to everyone who participated and helped towards making our first conference possible! Here's to next year ✨
Less than two weeks for #uwicah2022 (both in presence and online).
