The Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) is a permanent, interagency law enforcement task force created by executive order to end the presence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations throughout the United States, dismantle cross-border human smuggling and trafficking networks, end the scourge of human smuggling and trafficking, with a particular focus on such offenses involving children — across all 52 U.S. states and territories.

This organization peddled a deadly combination of meth and GBL, putting lives at risk for profit. They used encrypted apps, shell companies, and the U.S. mail to hide their operation. It didn’t work.

Fifteen defendants now face federal charges. Since my appointment as U.S. Attorney, my office, alongside the Homeland Security Task Force, has seized more than 1,800 pounds of meth.

We’re continuing our commitment to prosecuting the dirtbags who are flooding our streets with poison. Over the course of this investigation:

🔺 15 defendants charged
🔺 87+ kilograms of high-purity meth seized
🔺 800+ kilograms of GBL seized in the U.S.
🔺 57+ kilograms of ketamine seized
🔺 1.5 metric tons of GBL seized in South Korea — the largest domestic seizure of a controlled substance in the country’s history

MULTIPLE INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED FOR HEALTH CARE FRAUD CONSPIRACY FOLLOWING HOMELAND SECURITY TASK FORCE INVESTIGATION

Following a @HSTaskForce investigation, six individuals were arrested in Maine for allegedly conspiring to defraud MaineCare by billing for services NEVER provided.

The alleged scheme involved more than $600,000 in claims for a single client.

As part of Operation Southbound Takedown the @HSTaskForce seized 29 stolen vehicles valued at over $1 million used for the cartel operations in Mexico. 13 individuals have been arrested for their participation in this scheme.

If you provide support to these cartels, many of which have been designated as foreign terrorist organizations, by transporting stolen vehicles out of this country and into Mexico, we will find you, and we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
