A privilege to attend the memorial service of Stan Vickers yesterday. Stan was a remarkable man of102 years & despite his age he was intelligent and articulate.A proud gunner to the end. Thanks to 5 Regiment RA for his statue and drill round which he treasured. Rest in peace.

My final duty as High Sheriff South Yorkshire attending a firefighters pass out parade. Thanks to Chief Fire Officer for hosting us all so well. Also pleasure to have Prof Jaydip Ray representing the Lord Lieutenant. On Monday he will be the next High Sheriff!
