The School of Social Work at the University of Hargeisa celebrated World Social Work Day on 31st March 2026 under the theme “Building Hope and Harmony – A Harambee call for unity of divided society.’’
On behalf of the people of the Republic of Somaliland,We extend sincere congratulations to the Government and people of Israel for their formal recognition of Somaliland. This historic decision is deeply appreciated and we hope it will encourage other nations to follow.
This is a historic moment as we warmly welcome @netanyahu the Prime Minister of the State of Israel’s recognition of the Republic of Somaliland and affirm Somaliland’s readiness to join the Abraham Accords. This step marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that advances mutual interests, strengthens regional peace and security, and delivers shared benefits to all stakeholders, without prejudice to any party.

To advance gender equality and shift social norms through youth involvement and peer mobilization, Plan International, in collaboration with @HSocialWork ,created a community-wide initiative known as Champions of Change. Focusing on empowering girls as its primary strategy.
Yesterday, 10 October, 2024, our new Management of the University of Hargeisa has officially taken office. A grand ceremony held at the University of Hargeisa marked the transition of leadership to the new Management. The event was attended by numerous guests.
Through these discussions, we shed light on the critical situation facing girls in IDPs,current support and explored ways to advance their resilience.2/2
