Chestnut and Maple classes harvested the first crop of potatoes from the new allotment yesterday. There are also tomatoes, apples, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries well on the way to being ready. One of the lovely clematis is also in flower. @HawthornsTweets @The_RHS

Today has been busy for Willow Class. They went to Worsley Woods to explore and do a natural art session for Art Week. After a picnic lunch, they went to Bents Garden Centre to choose herbs to plant in Hawthorns new allotment area. @OutdoorClassDay @CLOtC

Today is International Polar Bear Day. Willow Class celebrated in their Outdoor Learning session with different activities. Den building for a polar bear, pies for a polar bear, making lanterns and a challenge to get ‘ice blocks’ to the bears!@HawthornsTweets @polarbears

Maple, Chestnut, Sycamore classes have been planting for science week. They planted peas that are out of date, and bulbs that should have been planted in autumn. They are testing to see that if with some TLC, the seeds will germinate and the bulbs will flower! @HawthornsTweets
