I mentioned this in my video last night, but Oakland did make a significant concession late after their Tuesday meeting… dropping the price to around $60M if they opt out at 3 years. Original ask was $97M. Around $20M/yr.

2. Hold firm on demanding a long-term MLB presence in Oakland (either the A's commit to stay OR a guaranteed MLB expansion team) in exchange for an A's '25-27 Coliseum lease extension

A's clearly need Bay Area TV $ to fund Vegas, dont give it to them w/out a replacement MLB team

Re: the A's lease, our position remains aligned with Mayor Thao's: No lease extension for the A's without a long-term commitment to MLB in Oakland (A's or expansion).

The sooner these seperate issues regarding the Roots are taken out of the equation the better.

1. The Roots purchase of the Alameda practice facility
2. Approval of the Roots/Soul 2025 lease at the Coliseum

to use them as leverage in the A's 2025-27 lease talks.

As negotiations between the A’s and the city officials ramp up we need to let our elected members know how important it is to keep the A’s in Oakland. Call and email the following people to express what you expect from them. Could be the most important step yet in all of this.
