"This has been one of the more unusual seasons I've ever been through."
@HawkeyeFootball Kirk Ferentz talks with @HowardGriffith ahead of Saturday's #B1GFCG.
Don't get me wrong, the Coop news is a major nut punch, yet this team continues to take nut punches and just keeps responding. I expect this weekend to be no different. HumNow Skawks, CLINCH INDY!
@unoriginalgoon@Quinn_Douglas_ "Gronkowski credits much of his blocking development to Brian Ferentz, who coached Patriots tight ends in 2010 and ’11 and now is the offensive line coach at Iowa"

This is only adding fuel to the fire. Bill Carollo & Ken Koester got this flat out wrong. They claim in the article they tried to use "common sense" yet, clearly that wasn't used in this instance. An egregious misinterpretation of a rule that is meant to protect the runner.
For nearly 30 minutes today, the Big Ten/NCAA answered detailed questions about why Cooper DeJean's punt-return TD was waved off Saturday. Here is the majority of what they said about the controversial call, broken up into 7 topics.

@Danny_Freed In the case of Minnesota, he's facing the kicking team as they pursue the ball, and it actually kind of looks like a fair catch. You're telling me that elementary school gym class arm circles looks like an invalid fair catch?

@Danny_Freed fair catch. As always, a game is more than one play, but to turn a play of that magnitude around on a technicality can hardly be constituted as common football sense.
@Danny_Freed Fair point, and don't take my outrage of the call for thinking that Iowa deserved to win. If they want to claim that was an invalid fair catch signal, then yes the play should've been blown dead. Nobody in the stadium felt like that was a legitimate or illegitimate attempt at a..
Referee Tim O'Dey, who called Cooper's 'fair catch', was also the line judge during last year's Iowa-Minnesota game when he called Jack Campbell out on his interception, which would have been a go-ahead touchdown in the final 2 minutes.
In case anyone was curious, this is the same ass hat that have Central Michigan an untimed down versus OSU a few years back. An investigation needs to be done by the @bigten
