Our happy band of Shire gardeners are working hard putting the final touches to their masterpieces for toorrow. Our final garden has been developed over the last 45 years by a very experienced gardener, featuring mixed borders including roses, two ponds & a stream

2 gardens today -first a 1 acre herbaceous & wild garden reclaimed from quarry tip, all planting by the owners. A collection of unusual trees and perennial plants, many from seed. A plant stall, and what's more, the
Spilt Milk Band are playing in the afternoon. Sounds great!

The 2nd garden of the day is a woodland garden with its own natural spring running through it. Gardening is a constant challenge due to our old friends rabbits, deer & pheasants and being 900 ft above sea level. But the abundance of birds, bees & butterflies make it worthwhile.

What a glorious evening, if not a little chilly. We've nearly mentioned all our beautiful gardens, just four to go.
Today's garden is a wild woodland garden, with birds, bees, ponies and hens. Like many others it was flooded over the winter so please make allowances!

The next garden -one of the higher altitude gardens and most southerly. Terraced lawns, rosebeds a new rhododendron and azelea bed which flowers from February to July. Three ponds naturally form part of a trickling stream, including the ’peeing Cherub’.

Don't forget, tickets and maps will be available from Whitley Chapel Parish Hall from 10 am, with 'Big Daddy' butties to celebrate Father's Day available until 11. Thereafter the WI are providing soups, teas and cakes.

Well miracles do happen! The owner of this garden was convinced everything would be blown apart in the wind over the last couple of days, but no, it's looking perfect! And what's more, when she was out at 6 am (gardening of course) she took a moment to watch the barn owl Heaven!

Five down, five to go! Today's garden consists of 'the usual garden stuff': trees, shrubs, weeds, flowers, fruit and veg. And a large greenhouse. The centre of the garden is ornamental with the edges abandoned to nature and hens. It sounds idyllic!

Today's featured garden is a large tranquil garden to explore on many different elevations. Enjoy the peace of the nature pond, or rest beside the sparkling streams of the burn. A haven of tranquillity in an idyllic location. Ample parking within 50 metres. @hexhamtv

This garden is an informal cottage garden created nearly 20 years ago from a pub car park with more enthusiasm than knowledge! Borders are varied (some dry out easily, others stay wet) so have morphed over the years using plants that can survive! 1/2

Willow is used to support plants, form sculptures, and create shelter. Some willow obelisks available to buy on the day. Visitors can sit on the terrace and admire the north-facing view over wetlands and woodland! It's absolutely idyllic! #Hexhamshire #gardentrail #Tynedale
