@LMcAtackney This format is so much fairer to those on limited budgets. As you can dip in and out and visit recordings you would have missed IRL. IRL can also be a intimidating and lonely if you don't know anyone or waiting for your people. Hotel can make you feel a bit Alan Partridge-y!

@LMcAtackney Agreed. Enormous barrier regarding costs and especially early career researchers just emerging from the PhD. Have been fortunate getting a couple of travel prizes but generally can't afford. Also, mega ones have so many timetable/paper clashes. Defeats the object somewhat.
