High pressure will build in over eastern NY and western New England today with fair and dry weather with abundant sunshine. Humidity levels will be very comfortable and high temps will run slightly below normal for late July. #nywx#vtwx#ctwx#mawx
A warm front moving through the region producing showers & thunderstorms.
Later, a cold front will approach from the west, creating another opportunity for strong or severe thunderstorms during the afternoon to evening.

The Storm Prediction Center says the greatest near-term tornado threat will be directly over NYC for the next hour or two. There is NOT a tornado ongoing, but one could develop quickly as these storms move through. Stay weather aware and have a way to get warnings on your phone.
The morning may look manageable. The afternoon may not. ⛈️
Strong storms could disrupt Hudson Valley roads, NYC crossings & regional airports today.
Travel calmly. Leave room to change direction.⛅🚗📱
